Voices for Casey gives flight to a community listening campaign

On Thursday 23 May Voices for Casey launched an exciting plan to survey and have Kitchen Table Conversations with hundreds of people over the next 3 months to listen to the important issues in the lead-up to the 2025 Federal Election. The information collated into a Community Report will be publicly released by the end of October 2024 and will be followed by a report card of our Local, State and Federal elected representatives about the issues important to voters in Casey.

The Micawber Tavern was abuzz with conversations between passionate people learning more about Voices for Casey’s community listening campaign.

We are building a grassroots movement for participatory democracy and listening and we invite the community to share what is important to you”, said Ani Wierenga, President of Voices for Casey

We have a goal to survey 1,000 people and 100 people to attend a Kitchen Table Conversation, with many people on the night signing up. Our lyrebird is taking flight across Casey.”

“Why the lyrebird? Because a lyrebird listens to all the voices it hears, then sings and amplifies everything it has heard – exactly what Voices for Casey is wanting to do, to listen, amplify and share your voice.”

Voices for Casey invites the community to share your voice with our Community Survey (2024 Casey Community Survey (15 min) (research.net), sign-up to join a Kitchen Table Conversation, RSVP to the Launch of the Bird in Healesville, or drop by to say hello at our market stall at the Healesville Market (2 June), Belgrave Big Dreams Market (9 June) and Upwey Community Market (23 June).
